Jamu (Balinese Medicine)

TURMERIC Often referred to as the “Queen of Spices,” turmeric contains a wide range of antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-carcinogenic, anti- mutagenic and anti-inflammatory properties, and is loaded with healthy nutrients.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 inch piece turmeric
  • 2 inch piece ginger
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • coconut water to taste 

PREPARATION

  1. Put turmeric and ginger through juicer.
  2. Add honey and desired amount of coconut water and stir well.
  3. Drink immediately, or store in a sealed mason jar for maximum 24 hours (only recommended if using a masticating juicer).

Jamu - a.k.a “liquid sunshine” - is a traditional Indonesian herbal medicine. For centuries it has been used to maintain good health, treat ailments and to prevent disease.
